Quote of the week

Back again after a looong holliday. First I had summer holliday and then crazytime at work:-) Sorry for not posting for a month now but at least you know why;)

This post is rather short I am afraid with only a small thoughtfull quote:

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times
-Bruce Lee

Contomplate this quote.

Taekwondo and other newer "systems" are sometimes marketed by slogans like "Taekwondo is a scientific system with over 8 000 techniques!" or something simular. There is value in studying broad, but there is also a great deal of value in specialising a little. As martial artists we do need skills on every range. If not we delude ourselves and we practise sport. BUT we also have to have quality in what we practise. This is where specialysing is good. I really think Bruce Lee explains the whole problem by marketing a system by it 1000s of techniques in a very short and elougant way:-)

Happy to you all.
